I’m loving the camera following BOSJ wrestlers to the ring

Obviously we'd rather all of these shows have more cameras and dynamic cutting during matches to capture the drama.

But I am loving the intimate feel of the camera catching them come through the drapes and walking to the ring, tracking along with their stride to show how they carry themselves. There's an intangible quality that makes it feel more "real" that they're going off to fight when we follow them up to the ring steps.

Report: WWE already advertising matches for Extreme Rules

With WWE’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view still two weeks away, a new report suggests that the company is peaking ahead towards their July pay-per-view offering. Set for Sun. July 15 at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the WWE is promoting two matches for Extreme Rules.

Both the Raw and SmackDown rosters are currently represented in ads for the 2018 edition of Extreme Rules.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required and recommended) Dave Meltzer noted that the WWE is already advertising two matches for Extreme Rules.

“They are promoting two matches for that show, although it’s hard to believe that they would main event a PPV show with Reigns & Strowman & Lashley vs. Owens & Zayn & Mahal as is being advertised.

The other match advertised is Bryan vs. Joe, plus matches with Styles, Nakamura, Rollins, Balor, Jeff Hardy, New Day, Charlotte, Carmella, Jax, Bliss, Banks and Asuka. It’s notable that Rousey is not announced for this show, nor is John Cena or Brock Lesnar.”

A bridge between Money in the Bank and SummerSlam, if this report holds true it looks like many of the current feuds on Monday and Tuesday nights will continue deep into the summer months. Also the exclusion of John Cena and Brock Lesnar comes as no surprise, but current Raw women’s number one contender Ronda Rousey being absent from Extreme Rules may raise some eyebrows.

Daniel Bryan and Samoa Joe getting an official one on one match sounds amazing but who’s ready for that Roman Reigns, Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman versus Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and Jinder Mahal six man tag?

Kushida tapping out, tell me I’m not the only one noticing this!

When on the receiving end of some kind of leg hold, Kushida will hit his hands on the mat three times, sometimes more! He is I assume doing this to hype himself up, but he is basically tapping out here and it is so jarring to watch! He has done this at least twice in BOSJ and I believe several times in the past. Yet the ref just ignores this (as he knows it's not the finish). Explain to me how at 13:35 in this match is not a tapout.

It baffles me that such a world class wrestler would consistently do this! This should definitely count as a tapout. I'm not a Kushida hater by any means, I consider him a world class wrestler and his match vs Scurll and vs Sho, despite the issue I have mentioned, are still my favourite of the tournament thus far.

Day 3 Trial Testimony Centers Around Frustrated CM Punk After Rumble Injury

Video testimony played in court Thursday morning painting a picture of an injured CM Punk who was angered by his early elimination from the 2014 Royal Rumble.

According to WrestleZone’s Nick Hausman … taped interviews featuring Kane, referee John Cone, athletic trainer Larry Heck and audio technician Timothy Gaeng kicked off day three of the libel trial pitting Punk and co-defendant Colt Cabana against WWE’s Dr. Chris Amann.

The testimony centered around Punk’s concussion in the Royal Rumble and the chaos that ensued in the moments following the injury.

Kane recalled “illegally” eliminating Punk from the event – a phrase that got a chuckle from Punk inside the courtroom — and said the elimination was planned, but for later in the match.

Cone recalled producers in the back telling him to let Punk know he needed to stay down and that Kane would be coming out to eliminate him.  The ref said Punk responded, “if you make me leave this fucking match, I’ll f*cking quit right now.”  Cone said after repeating the order, Punk pie-faced him.

It’s worth noting Punk quit the company the next day.

Heck, a 17-year medical veteran of WWE, testified that Amman said Punk had been concussed in the match.  Following the elimination, Heck said he witnessed Punk cuss people out backstage and then leave.  Heck recalled Punk being mad the finish of the match was changed.

Kane, Heck, and Cone testified that they weren’t aware of a lump or infection on Punk’s lower back.

After the videos played, court broke for lunch.

During testimony on Wednesday, Dr. Amann was on the stand discussing text messages between he and Punk, how he disclosed Punk’s medical issues to others, and emotional damage he says has been caused by the podcast.

The trial got started on Tuesday following jury selection.  Proceedings are expected to last a week.

Nikki Bella and John Cena are officially back together

True love always kicks out at two and half. Just when you thought the relationship between Nikki Bella and John Cena was gone for good, news broke today (May 31) that pro wrestling’s favorite power couple is back together.

With Cena wooing her back, Bella responding in a worked manner and everyone pretty much confessing the two are ‘basically back together’, maybe today’s news should come as that big of a surprise.

Already two episodes into the third season of the E! reality show Total Bellas, a Bella-Cena reunion angle may help with the show’s sinking ratings.

According to Us Weekly, who originally broke the news of the break-up in April, Bella and Cena are together again.

Just a month and a half after calling off their engagement, Nikki Bella and John Cena are back together, Us Weekly can exclusively reveal. The break was good for the pair, a source tells us, for Bella especially.

Oh and they have sources.

“Nikki called off the wedding earlier this month so she could have more time to make a decision with what she wanted in life,” an insider close to the pair tells Us. “Calling off the wedding was the right decision at the moment and their relationship only grew from it. It didn’t mean that any love was lost, or that they lost any feelings for one another, but they both have realized that they love each other and want to be with one another.”

That will put butts (eyes) in (on) the seats (television).

Inquiry about viewing BOSJ

Sorry if I sound dumb, I just subscribed go NJPW World last night. My question is, is it possible to stream/watch BOSJ live, or do I have to wait until the matches are uploaded later? Also, what time is BOSJ. NJPW's website says 18:30 Aomori, but I'm not sure what that would be in EST. Thank you.

Tetsuya Naito has the perfect response to Chris Jericho’s R-rated promo

If you weren’t already sold on it, Tetsuya Naito casually throwing shade at Chris Jericho just sealed the deal. On Saturday Jun. 9, Naito and Jericho will finally meet under the New Japan Pro Wrestling banner when they square up as part of the promotion’s Dominion card.

Last week Jericho went full Jericho in a profanity laced promo that blasted his opponent from all angles. This week Naito hit Y2J with a smooth but calculated counter punch to the rib-cage.

Naito was asked about his thoughts on Jericho and responded in the video below.

https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

“Nothing really. I know that he was in Best of the Super Juniors before. He was in the ring on June 5, 1997 in Budokan on the day I decided to become a pro wrestler. But unfortunately, he wasn’t main-eventing, he was knocked out of the tournament already. So, he failed to make any kind of impression on me.”

Wasn’t a main-eventer? Knocked out early in the tournament? Failed to make any kind of impression? That is some grade-A, high quality shade dropped in the lap of Chris Jericho courtesy of Tetsuya Naito.

Seriously, is it Jun. 9 yet?

Drew McIntyre Learned of Ziggler Pairing Hours Before RAW Debut (AUDIO)

While some fans are already labeling him a future world champion, Drew McIntyre says he’s focused on the current: his team with Dolph Ziggler — a pairing he learned about after showing up at the building to make his RAW return.

“I didn’t quite know what was going on,” McIntyre told Jim Ross on the latest edition of The Ross Report. “Dolph’s somebody I go way back with. I was really looking forward to working with him.”

Ross noted from the get-go fans were already speculating on what was next for the duo: would they be future tag champs? Who would turn on whom?

“People are asking a lot of questions,” McIntyre said. “A lot of people are jumping way ahead and I appreciate all the positive things everybody is saying, but let’s just remember there’s 52 weeks of TV a year. Let’s just take our time — introduce the casual audience who Drew McIntrye is now.”

“Trust me, we’re going to get there,” he assured fans. “It’s going to be a fun journey.”

McIntyre says RAW needs “more killer and less filler” and he hopes to lead that charge and pay respect to those who paved the path to the new multi-billion dollar TV deals. Adding, “I’ve been in the locker room with the Undertakers, the Mysterios, Christian, even Ric Flair when I was 22, and I don’t know if all of them would be happy with the way the locker room is these days.”

McIntyre had much more to say about complacency among his peers. You can hear his thoughts on the subject starting around the 1:04:00 mark.

Dean Ambrose debuts new look at the Stanley Cup finals

Well that Dean Ambrose heel turn is pretty much confirmed. Out of WWE in-ring action since Dec. 2017 with a severe triceps injury, Amrbose made an appearance last night at game two of the Stanley Cup finals in Las Vegas.

Ambrose, along with wife Renee Young, got to ride the Zamboni between periods as they cheered on the Golden Knights versus the Washington Capitals.

https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

Also, Dean Ambrose now has a new haircut -facial hair combo, and everyone is freaking out about it.

Is Ambrose sporting a Sami Zayn inspired look on his face? Enjoying hockey, rocking a finely kept beard, married to the beloved Renee Young, is the country of Canada going to try to adopt Ambrose?

When WWE fans last saw Ambrose, he was getting his arm busted up by The Bar and getting written off TV due to injury.

After successful surgery and rehab of his triceps, the latest word was The Lunatic Fringe would be back with the WWE by summer or maybe even late spring. Earlier in the month Raw GM Kurt Angle even scolded fans for asking him repeatedly when Ambrose would return to the WWE.

When Dean Ambrose does return to the WWE, what will his role be on the crowded Raw roster?

Undertaker debuts on social media, posts a picture of himself

Remember when your parents first joined social media? Yeah, that exact same scenario is playing out with The Undertaker this week.

Right now The Undertaker is all of our dads as they navigate the rocky waters of social media. After years of avoiding it, The Phenom now has an official Instagram page.

Excited about the big, wide world of photos with filters, Taker even posted his first Instagram post the other day.

The Deadman

A post shared by Undertaker (@undertaker) on

//www.instagram.com/embed.js

Does that count as a selfie? Is that a not cropped picture of a picture on a over-sized boxy computer monitor?

The Deadman is currently only following University of Texas Longhorns football team and Michelle McCool on Instagram.

Taker still does not have an official Twitter page and his Facebook page appears to be run by someone within the WWE who isn’t really invested in it.

What will Undertaker’s second IG post be? Stay tuned for further updates as they become available.
