Lucha libre promotion AAA crowned quite a few new champions on Sunday night during their annual Heroes Inmortales event in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
After the fallout of last month’s TripleMania controversy that saw Sexy Star stripped of the Reina de Reinas Championship, Lady Shani emerged victorious in her match against Ayako Hamada to win the vacant title. Shani was one of the women in the match at TripleMania that allegedly got involved in a shoot fight with Star, which ultimately resulted in Rosemary sustaining an injury from a legitimate submission hold.
Johnny Mundo actually pulled a triple-header at Heroes Inmortales. The Impact Wrestling star (where he works under the name Johnny Impact) successfully defended his AAA Mega Championship in the show’s main event against Dr. Wagner, but was not so lucky with his other two championship defenses throughout the night. Mundo also put his AAA World Cruiserweight Championship on the line in a chaotic multi-man brawl but it was Lanzelot that left victorious, ending his reign at 195 days.
It was El Hijo Del Fantasma who perhaps stole the show by winning this year’s Antonio Pena Cup, an annual tournament established in 2007 to honor the late founder of the promotion. In doing so he won Mundo’s AAA Latin American Championship, but it was El Texano Jr. who had the last laugh, attacking the new champion and stealing his title, trophy and mask.

There’s a fun little in-kayfabe narrative that Shane McMahon has experience with the Hell in a Cell match in such a way that it will give him some kind of edge over Kevin Owens when the two wrestle on Oct. 8 in Detroit. Here’s how KO addressed that:
Insane Championship Wrestling have confirmed two new matches for their November 19th event, Fear & Loathing X at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland. On a possible Flair vs Ronda Rousey WrestleMania main event:
“I hope that’s the main event of WrestleMania,” she told ESPN. “That’s my dream. I hope we can make it happen. She really opened the doors for a lot of women. Having that opportunity would be huge. I don’t know what her goals are, but it’s just cool that she wants to be a part of our world.”
On Rousey opening doors for the WWE women:
“I thank Ronda for opening the door for us,” Flair said. “If Ronda had never been given that main event spot as a female and doing what she did with it, I don’t know if we would have ever been given that chance.
“Yeah, we were killing it at NXT, but I don’t know if the main roster audience and the business side would have thought the women could carry the main storyline and main event a pay-per-view and we did and I think that’s because they saw how popular Ronda was and if you give us a storyline, we can deliver and we did deliver, so I want to thank her.”
On Ric Flair’s health:
“He’s good. He went home last week,” she said. “I’d say a couple of positive things came out of it. I had to take two weeks off, which is the longest I’ve taken off since I’ve started. So I was able to slow down and realize it’s a marathon, not a sprint. Having that time with my dad was so great and it also made my dad realize that he’s 68. He has to slow down. They really did tell us that he wasn’t going to make it. That was so hard. They gave him a 20 percent chance and we said our goodbyes and then he made out of surgery and every day, he slowly got better.”
Dolph Ziggler has responded to fan criticism of his recent WWE TV gimmick, which has seen The Showoff come out dressed as different WWE stars from the past. Ziggler’s point in doing this is to prove that the superstars he’s mimicking were nothing more than a flashy entrance, and characters he’s dressed as have included The Undertaker and DX.
A fan on Twitter criticized Ziggler’s recent creative direction, and Ziggler responded with the following Tweet:
My fav part is, the MORE marks complain (online, obviously) in unison during my seg, it makes it MORE popular & they give me MORE time haha

It’s a quiet weekend in the MMA world…except for fighter Jonno Mears. That’s right, Mears submitted Aaron Jones with […]
Yesterday, my main man Sean Rueter passed along a fun little bit where Corey Graves made clear Enzo Amore is ruining his life. The basis was a tweet where Graves noted that his son celebrating making it to second base by doing Enzo’s trademark dance meant he’s failed as a father.
He’s a heel now, of course, so his going after Graves here is no surprise. But that’s one hell of a shot, considering Graves was forced out of active wrestling due to concussion related issues. Get that heat and all but damn, Enzo.
Earlier this year, Gail Kim noted that this would be her last year as an in-ring competitor. It looks like Bound For Glory will be her last match. Brock Lesnar is a throwback to the WWE Champions of the 1980’s. Younger fans may not know that it was rare to see the top stars on weekly WWE programming and that’s what kept them special. The idea was that fans had to pay to see them. In the case of Brock Lesnar, it’s also […]

According to PWInsider.com, GFW plans to tape content for Impact at the upcoming WrestlePro event in Rahway, New Jersey. The event takes place on December 9th, and will feature Alberto El Patron along with GFW Global Champion Eli Drake.
In related news, the PWInsider report adds that GFW is currently scouting bigger market locations for Impact TV tapings, and the cities currently being considered include Toronto, New York and Chicago.
Chicago had previously been planned as a location for a GFW live event, however those plans were postponed. With regards to Impact’s usual Orlando location, it’s being said the company does have plans to return to Orlando, likely for TV tapings sometime in 2018.
WWE has released the following video, featuring Cathy Kelley looking at the friendly battle between Sasha Banks and Bayley, which took place this week on social media, and featured the two women vying for the friendship of WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin:
Nikki Bella has released a new video via The Bella Twins’ personal YouTube page. During the video, which you can watch below, Bella reveals that John Cena will be in attendance for the next episode of “Dancing with the Stars”, and Bella will be dedicating her dance on the show to leader of the Cenation.
There’s a ton of wrestling content nowadays and unless you’re a hardcore pro-graps fan, you have to decide what to watch when and what to consider leaving out. That’s where we come in to help.
Every week, we are going to run down the big in-ring happenings for the easily accessible US wrestling. This won’t cover your indie needs, but ReverendKain always has you covered in his weekly Sermon on the Mat for that.
Bear in mind, matches could be added after this posts that would definitely change how worth a show is to watch.
Monday Night Raw (USA Network)
Raw has a bit of time to fill prior to their next pay-per-view (PPV) TLC. Because of that, we don’t have any matches for that show actually announced yet. Hell, we don’t know if the Universal title is even going to be defended at this show. (My guess is no.) The only match that looks like it’ll obviously happen is Mickie James vs. Alexa Bliss, but that’s not been announced.
The one major thing to pay attention is the likely Shield reunion for that show where they will may very well face the epic, unstoppable trio of the Miztourage. (That was steeped in sarcasm.) Seth Rollins will be facing Braun Strowman (who defeated Dean Ambrose last week) on Monday. We’ll see if that plays into the eventual reunion.
Verdict: With little announced, there’s plenty to look out for. And with a Shield reunion on the horizon, not matter how lame the competition, it’s worth seeing how that comes together.
SmackDown Live (USA Network)
This is the go-home show for Hell in a Cell and that card has some great matches such as Shane McMahon vs. Kevin Owens in the Cell and New Day vs. the Usos, also in the Cell.
While I don’t think you’d miss much if you just watched Hell in a Cell in a week, Kevin Owens has been doing his best work in WWE and watching him become a star (or more of one) is fun.
Oh and the Fashion Files are back!
Verdict: You could probably skip it, but KO has been doing incredible work.
205 Live (WWE Network)
Enzo Amore is a heel now and attacked Neville with a crutch on 205 Live last week. We also still don’t have a contender for his title. Zo holding the division and its title hostage has been quite interesting though.
Verdict: If you like the cruisers or certified g’s, check it out.
NXT (WWE Network)
Drew McIntyre defends his NXT title for the first time against Roderick Strong on Wednesday. While it’s very unlikely for the title to change hands on TV (I honestly don’t remember the last time the NXT title did), it will still be a fun match. Plus, we don’t know if there’s going to be anything between Roderick and his former ROH colleagues the Undisputed.
Plus, we will hopefully more about the matches that will decide who the other competitors are for the Women’s title Houston.
Verdict: A title match between Strong and McIntrye is worth tuning in for.
Lucha Underground (El Rey Network)
It’s night 2 of 4 of Ultrima Lucha Tres.
Tonight, Ivelisse will face Catrina in a match that you probably forgot was booked because Ivelisse missed most of the season due to injury. However, there’s enough history there that I’m looking forward to this one.
There will also be an over the top battle royal for one of Dario Cueto’s Unique Opportunities. Those are often things that don’t work out for the winner.
But the big match is probably the Ultima Lucha match I’m looking forward to the most: Fenix vs Marty the Moth in a mask vs. hair match. This has been a great story. Fenix has a romantic thing going on with ring announce Melissa Santos. Melissa happens to be the obsession of the creepy bastard Marty. This has led Marty to ramping up his cruelty and trying to rip off the mask of Fenix. This feels like a blood feud and should be great.
Verdict: If you’re following Lucha Underground, watch the last three episode of the season. But I wouldn’t call it a jumping on point. If you want to jump on, hit up Netflix or iTunes and check out season one.
Impact Wrestling (Pop TV)
Impact is coming off their Victory Road special and Eli Drake is still champion. After he defeated Johnny Impact (with a lot of cheating), he and buddy Chris Adonis assault some referees.
This week, enemies turned reluctant allies EC3 and James Storm will unite to battle the forces of Triple A in El Hijo de Fantasma and Texano. There is also a 3 on 3 X Division match.
Verdict: This doesn’t feel like a big one.
If I could only watch one thing this week, it’d be:
It was close and unfortunately, it was close with the show that airs at the exact same time: Lucha Underground.
I really am into the Marty the Moth Martinez vs. Fenix match that will be the main event next week. However, Drew vs. Roddy for the title (despite the ending having little doubt) just edges it out. I’ll probably end up watching them back to back though.
There’s a ton of other wrestling out there and we can’t cover it all on here. So if there’s something you’re particularly excited for this week, let your fellow wrestling fans know in the comments.
WWE has released the following video, featuring the top 10 most anticipated superstar debuts in the upcoming WWE 2K18 video game. Some of the names include No Way Jose, SAnitY, Gran Metalik and Billie Kay:
WWE star Kane, real name Glenn Jacobs, has been noticeably absent from a WWE for quite sometime, as he continues his Mayoral campaign in Knox County, Tennessee.
When asked about Kane’s future in WWE, Dave Meltzer noted on Twitter that there are currently no plans for The Big Red Machine to return to action, but that his in-ring career is not necessarily over.
Kane last appeared for WWE during the live holiday tour on December 5th, 2016 in Tyler, Texas teaming with American Alpha and defeating The Wyatt Family in a 6-Man Tag Team Match.
After WWE Raw this Monday night, WWE Network will be airing a new episode of “WWE Story Time”. The official show synopsis is as follows:
“Hear colorful tales of misfortune from some of your favourite WWE Superstars and Hall of Famers who prove that everybody makes mistakes!”

WWE Winnipeg Live Event Results 9/30/17 Winnipeg, Canada Results Courtesy of PWInsider.com
First up, Finn Balor pinned Bray Wyatt after the Coup de Gras. Good match to start the show as Balor was way over, and even Wyatt getting some cheers.
Next was Neville getting the win over Cruiserweight Champion, Enzo Amore by DQ after Enzo hit Neville with the Cruiserweight belt following a pretty one sided match with Neville dominating most of the match. Neville still playing a heel, teasing the Red Arrow but then changing his mind.
Elias and Dash Wilder did a duet to an Alice In Chains cover song ripping on Winnipeg to big boos. Titus O’Neil and Apollo Crews interrupted the “concert” which led to the next match.
Titus and Apollo defeating Elias and Wilder in a pretty basic match.
Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose beat The Miztaurage (Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel) in a pretty good match after Seth hit a superkick on Bo who ran into Dirty Deeds from Ambrose for the pin.
Brock Lesnar w/ Paul Heyman pinned Sheamus w/ Cesaro to retain the Universal Title. Paul Heyman doing his usual introduction for Brrrrrock Lessssnar!!! Brock easily got the pop of the night and is even more impressive to see in action live then tv does him justice. The suplex count hit 9 on Sheamus, who actually got a fair amount of offense in, hitting White Noise and the Celtic Cross, followed by 3 Brogue kicks. Brock kicked out then came back and landed an F5 for the win. Cesaro got involved after the match and got an F5 as well. Fun match!
After intermission it was a Fatal 5 Way for the Raw Women’s Championship.
Alexa Bliss retained her title over Sasha Banks, Mickie James, Emma, and Bayley, getting the pin on Bayley after a DDT.
The Miz pinned Jason Jordan to retain the Intercontinental Title. The Miz is a master of working the crowd and is easily one of the best in the business right now. The Miztaurage got tossed from ringside after interfering, but Miz still able to get the win. Jason Jordan has Xpac heat right now as nobody even cares.
In the Main Event, Roman Reigns beat Braun Strowman by DQ after Braun nailed Roman with the ring stairs. After the match Braun set up a table in the corner of the ring, but ate 2 Superman punches, followed by a Spear through the table. Braun got a massive pop, and Roman was booed heavily.
Kind of a dull way to end the night with the second DQ finish and the crowd not leaving happy, as people were booing Roman as he was celebrating with some fans after the match.
AJ Styles is expected to resume his place in the SmackDown title picture following WrestleMania.
He’s still not in the title picture. He’s been the US title guy. (0/1)
WWE doesn’t have plans to use Mick Foley again, even after he heals up from his hip surgery.
He hasn’t been used. I’m sure he’ll be used one day again. (1/1)
Baron Corbin is likely winning the Intercontinental championship from Dean Ambrose, as WWE officials are still high on him and want to push him to the top by the end of the year.
He did not win that title. And his push to the top was pretty derailed. He could still become a US champion next week though. (0/1)
There’s some talk that Asuka could be used in the SmackDown women’s title match at WrestleMania 33 but it wouldn’t act as a main roster call up.
She wasn’t part of the match. However, she’ll be debuting for Raw soon. (0/1)
The Observer is saying Dr. Jerry Graham, Haystacks Calhoun, Rikidozan, June Byers, Farmer Burns, Judy Grable, Toots Mondt, and Luther Lindsay will added to the WWE Hall of Fame’s Legacy wing this year.
Accurate. WWE really never talks about this. You have to go looking for it. (1/1)
There are apparently no plans to promote Asuka from NXT to the main roster any time soon.
It took about six months. I’d say this is accurate in this case. (1/1)
It’s possible Eva Marie is done with WWE, as she’s moved on from wrestling and the company isn’t planning to re-sign her when her contract expires.
She’s done with the E. Sorry, Geno. (1/1)
Plans called for Finn Balor to wrestle Triple H at WrestleMania 33 if Seth Rollins had been completely unable to go, according to former WWE writer Brian Maxwell Mann.
Seth was able to go, so we’ll never know. However, I don’t know how they would have built that.
The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal and Cruiserweight championship matches are currently scheduled for the WrestleMania Kickoff this Sunday. It’s expected one more match will also move to the pre-show.
They originally put the SmackDown women’s title there and then switched it with the Intercontinental championship after a bit of backlash. (1/1)
As covered in their recent social media postings, it looks like Paige & Alberto El Patron are getting married this week.
They’re still not married. They’ve stayed out of the news lately. It’s been lovely. (0/1)
Here’s your “Daily Open Thread” for Oct. 1, 2017. Come chat about whatever you would like. Come back all day and night for discussion of all things pro wrestling and beyond, some of the former but much more of the latter. Basically, this is the spot to yak about anything related to anything other than pro wrestling.
Don’t forget to check out everything else we have going on here at Cageside today. Keep checking that front page for content throughout the day, but for now, scroll on down to the comments and talk about whatever your heart desires.
Was Braun Strowman able to continue his dominance of Brock Lesnar and walk out as the Universal Champion? Did Roman Reigns prove himself to John Cena? Who left the Staples Center as the RAW Tag Team Champions? Could Enzo Amore dethrone “The King of the Cruiserweights”? Did The Miz leave Hollywood as the Intercontinental Champion?
The next pay-per-view (PPV) on the WWE schedule is the Hell in a Cell event set to take place on Sun., Oct. 8, 2017, at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. This is the ninth time WWE has held this particular event but it’s the first that is exclusive to the SmackDown Live brand.
We’re just one week from showtime. Here’s how the card looks right now:
Kevin Owens vs. Shane McMahon (Hell in a Cell match)
Owens has been upset with McMahon’s decision making for some time but he went over the edge after a series of referee mishaps led to his losing the United States title and failing to gain it back. McMahon ended up as the object of his ire. He said horrible things. He beat up Shane’s father. Now, this.
The New Day vs. The Usos (Tag Team Title Hell in a Cell match)
These teams have been going back-and-forth for a while, so it only makes sense to end it once and for all with a Hell in a Cell match. So that is what they will do.
Jinder Mahal vs. Shinsuke Nakamura (WWE championship)
They failed massively with the writing of this story, which started with the usual “Jinder can’t win without help from the Singh brothers” before turning into “oh, he’s also racist too” before they hoped to replace that with “he’s just trying to be a comedian and failing badly at it.” It’s all been impossibly lame, but here we are.
Natalya vs. Charlotte (SmackDown women’s championship)
Flair won a Fatal 4-Way to determine the next number one contender and this is where she’s cashing in on that. Carmella and her Money in the Bank contract loom large.
AJ Styles vs. Baron Corbin (US championship)
They’ve tried to have matches but something always gets in the way, like Tye Dillinger, and now he’s (maybe, probably) out of the way out, so they’ll have another match to see about how it all plays out.
Dolph Ziggler vs. Bobby Roode
Ziggler has spent a few weeks complaining that fans just love flashy entrances and style over substance. They don’t want a guy like him, who is just a better wrestler. Naturally, Roode was the man to answer his whining. Ziggler took this as an insult, because Bobby fits the bill. Or so he thinks. We’ll find out when they actually wrestle each other.
Everybody who comes to Cageside Seats has an opinion about what’s going on in pro wrestling – The Smark’s Shoot Standings (S3) are where YOU let us know YOURS.
Cast a vote in the comments. Give us the four performers you think entertained or impressed the most in the last week, and feel free to talk about why. And/or vote for your top performer in our poll.
We also have the outcome of last week’s voting, the results of which make up our annual competition for Performer of the Year.
Remember, the Standings are for the previous week’s nationally televised and internet streaming pro wrestling shows – WWE’s No Mercy pay-per-view (PPV), the Sept. 25 episode of Monday Night Raw, Tuesday’s SmackDown and 205 Live, NXT and Lucha Underground from Wednesday, Thursday’s Impact Wrestling, ROH TV #314, and any other internet streaming wrestling that aired from Sept. 24 – 30, 2017.
Make YOUR mark, smarks!
The new #1 contender for their Women’s title led the resurgent blue brand, ahead of the conquering hero who proclaimed himself #1 and the Prizefighter who’s going to heaven.
On Monday nights, a couple familiar foes made an impression as they prepped for different PPV opponents.
An interesting sign that the changes to the cruiserweight scene are working… the other Tuesday night show placed three folks in the top ten! For details on how, please refer to my POWERPOINT PRESENTATION!
Doesn’t matter if you were offended, intrigued or turned on – you liked what Patrick Clark started with Aleister Black on NXT.
And teaming with a WWE Cruiserweight than successfully defending his title continued one of the best years any indie wrestler is having in our Standings for the Evolve champ.

The S3 Performer of the Year – through the Week Ending Sept. 23
“This is only the beginning! It’s been amazing! It is so different from what I’m used to like being in AAA and Lucha Underground. But, that’s what is exciting! I try to always evolve as a wrestler and a performer and as a character. I just think this was a natural progression and next natural step in my career.”
On what is so different at Impact Wrestling than Lucha Underground and AAA:
“(Laughs) Everything about it is different! It is a totally different roster, obviously, so I’m facing women I’ve never faced before who all wrestle in different styles. I’m Canadian but I also spent 5 years of my life in Mexico in AAA. It’s just so different. The speed is different. We’re wrestling to the left instead of the right. The ring is different. The fans are completely different! But, it’s cool! It’s a challenge just like anything. But, you know, I’ve started at the bottom and came up from there always. I’ve always had these challenges throughout my career and different barriers I have to break through and create a name for myself. This is just one more opportunity to do so!”
On if she knew she was headed there when GFW did the ballpark shows in the Northeast:
“For me, I’ve worked in AAA with Jeff and Karen (Jarrett) for many many years. We would always discuss me coming up and working with them and doing different projects with them. There was never ever an opportunity to do so. Things change! You know what I mean? I now live in the States. It is just the perfect timing. So, when they invited us to do the live evemtsn, that was just step 1 and it just evolved from there. I hope to evolve with Impact for a long time. The women there are just so talented. Everyone wants to have really good matches. It shows their heart for this business. I want to work with girls like that and I’m just really happy that I’m part of that locker room now.”
On making the big trip down to Mexico from Canada:
“I had been given a contract from WWE. Then, they decided they didn’t want me. I was feeling very depressed and up against a wall with my career. I didn’t really… I knew this is what I wanted to do. So, I just found an opportunity to do it! I was invited to train in Mexico. I went and trained and I stayed! I mean, Perro Aguayo Jr, who passed away a few years ago, changed my life. So did Konnan. So did the whole Roldan family. So did all the people who helped me out along the way. And, all those people who didn’t believe in me, I thank them too because they were just part of that motivation that helped me get through the hard times that I had down there. It’s an evolution of Taya that’s grown up in front of the Lucha Libre community. And now, I get to present that to the American wrestling community.”
“Inter-gender matches have been a part of Lucha Libre forever, ever, and ever. We did lots of mixed-tags and different scensarios like that on AAA TV. I’m sure if people looked it up, it wasn’t my first time inter-gender wrestling. But with Brian (Cage), what he said is exactly the truth! I came in there. There was no change in speed, strength, or anything. That was my first match in Lucha Underground. As someone who has always had to fight for recognition, it was just one more opportunity for me to be like, “You know what? They think I’m going to go in there and let this guy beat me up and not have fire. I have more fire when you tell me I can’t do something or put me in a position where I am the underdog. I’m so thankful Brian (Cage) is the artist and professional that he is. He let me show how strong I am as a professional wrestler and as a performer. I can’t wait to have my rematch! (laughs)”.
On Lucha Underground Season 4 and if we’ll ever get it:
“Ugh! Honestly, we are in the same position as all of you. We don’t know what’s going on. It’s been a frustrating situation for all of us. It’s been 15 months since we filmed Ultima Lucha Tres! We love making that product. It is a totally different product than anything else in the wrestling world. We’re like sitting ducks waiting. But, that’s why it is cool that we all have these different opportunities like I went to Japan twice last year, I’m now doing stuff with Impact. I got to travel across the States and wrestle anyone that I want. Take it for what it is. I’m just really excited and hoping we get some news really soon about it.”
On what really happened leading to her leaving AAA:
“Well, of course they’re going to say different! (laughs) I know the truth because I lived the truth. That’s fine. Let them say what they’re going to say to make some people with the name called Vampiro look bad. (laughs) It is what it is. I couldn’t go down to TV because I got into a car accident. They then stripped me of the title without telling me. Got back the title by lying to Johnny about it. It was a big old mess. But, I am not a grudge holder. I don’t believe in closing doors. I’m continuing to live my life. With that said, what happened sucked. I really felt taken advantage of by a company I had so much loyalty towards. I felt really betrayed. The family down in AAA, they are my family! They protected me and took care of me and had me become who I am today within the Lucha Libre community… And then then went and did this. It really pissed me off. It didn’t have anything to do with the belt itself. It had to do with a respect and a loyalty. A lot of people left the company. I decided to stay and be loyal to the company and got kicked in the butt. It was hard for me on a personal level because it felt like a betrayal. It is what it is. I would never wish bad on anybody or a company. But, i want them to recognize what they did… Yeah, I’ve heard these weird apologies from Vamp. it just doesn’t make any sense. Everybody should just be honest with what happened and we’ll move on. I’m an adult. I don’t have time for childish games.”
On Sexy Star shooting on Rosemary:
“I was just so disappointed. I was in LA watching, I was not in Mexico even though some people try to say that I was. I was just so disappointed in the whole situation because I consider myself to be the face… Heavily involved within the Lucha Libre world. It was really sad for me to watch. I don’t think I really want to say too much about it because I think it has been talked about enough. Some people just don’t deserve that attention. But, I just think that everyone’s true colors show in the end.”
On working with Rosemary in Impact:
“I’m really glad Rosemary is doing better now. I can’t wait to get in there and have a big old Canadian brawl with her. (laughs) I have a feud with Sexy Starr on Wednesdays and with Rosemary on Thursdays. It’s a little crazy! I can’t wait to work with her (Rosemary) and see where this goes. I’m excited for you guys to see how this all evolves. Lets see if the Demon Assassin really is the Demon Assassin! (laughs)”.
On Impact going to her birth country of Canada for Bound for Glory:
“It’s been years since I’ve wrestled in Canada! (laughs) I’m excited to come home! I am from the West Coast. Hopefully someday, Impact will make its way west. It is going to be interesting. We haven’t been in front of that crowd… Impact hasn’t been in front of a Canadian crowd, I don’t know if it has ever happened? I’m not sure. Everytime you go to a different city, it is a challenge. Orlando has been so good for Impact. So, Ottawa, come on! Come through! Be there for us and just know we’re going to put it all out there!”
On being on her own in Impact:
“Throughout my career, I’ve always been associated with factions. For example, I am in Worldwide Underground in Lucha Underground. But, for the first time, Taya gets to stand on her own!”
On Johnny Impact so far in Impact:
“Who is Johnny Impact? (laughs) It’s cool. I’m just so proud of him on all he is doing as Johnny Impact and Johnny Mundo!”
On the Women’s Revolution:
“I think it is something that has evolved over time. I don’t want this to be a trend. If everyone loves women’s wrestling because we are challenging ourselves and having these crazy ass matches, then believe in us too. Don’t just talk about it.” She goes on to credit women’s wrestling through the years including and especially Trish Stratus and Lita.
According to PWInsider.com, a new biopic on the life of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is in the works, and an Oscar nominated actor has been offered the role of “Mr. McMahon”.
Four-time Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper has reportedly been offered the role of Vince, and the PWInsider report adds the production wants an A-List celebrity attached to the project in order to give the film more “legitimacy”.
The script for the McMahon biopic was penned back in 2015, however WWE Studios came onboard shortly after and the script underwent heavy rewrites.
While playing Vince McMahon will be new to Bradley Cooper should he accept the role, which as of this writing he has yet to do, Cooper is no stranger to WWE as he previously appeared on Raw to promote his movie “The A-Team”. Talks between Cooper and WWE regarding the Vince McMahon movie reportedly began when Cooper appeared on Raw.
Cooper has several films currently in production, including a remake of the classic film “A Star is Born”, and a reprisal of the role of Rocket Raccoon in the upcoming “Avengers: Infinity War” film.
Although it was once promised the Fashion Police would solve their latest case at Battleground, they’re still working things out. WWE has promised the next episode of Fashion Files will air on next week’s episode of SmackDown Live and, with Hell in a Cell just one week away, it’s worth wondering if that’s not when they finally figure things out.
Mattias Clement (Tyler Breeze): I would hope so, man. You know, we’re busy with the [Fashion] Files and everything. Solving cases throughout the WWE. Eventually, The New Day and the Usos got to wrap it up and they need new people to face. We already had a couple run-ins with the Usos and I think people want to see more.
Curtis Hussey (Fandango): I think post Hell in a Cell, when they kind of finish their business, and we wrap up our case here that we’ve been working on, maybe we’ll set our sights on those tag team titles.
The New Day are grand, and The Usos have been doing amazing work for some time now, but it’s time Breezango gets an extended run at the top.
